The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to meet human needs in Christ's name without discrimination.
Description:
The Salvation Army helps with food, clothing, shelter, some transportation and some utility payments. We do have guidelines that must be followed in order to get the above mentioned items in order that we may keep proper tabs on what we have helped with and how often people have gotten help.
History:
The Salvation Army is 142 years old and is an international organization. It first started as a church (it still is) and it is better known as a social service organization. It has been in Kirksville for over 80 years.
