RSVP provides meaningful opportunities for people age 55+ to remain or become active in the community through their volunteer service.
Description:
RSVP invites adults age 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to answer the call of their neighbors in need. Giving anywhere from 1 to 40 hours per week, RSVP volunteers help solve serious problems in their community. Benefits to volunteer include free volunteer placement, opportunity to use experience and skills, chance to learn something new, supplemental accident and liability insurance, and satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference.
History:
RSVP is a Senior Corp program under the Corporation for National and Community Service. Since 1973 RSVP has been helping others in our community and today serves 37 agencies, non-profit organizations, and health care facilities with over 350 volunteer providing over 60,000 hours of services each year.
