The Medomak Valley Land Trust (MVLT) is a nonprofit conservation organization established in 1991 to preserve the natural, recreational, scenic, and traditional land-use values of the Medomak River watershed.

Description:
MVLT is a small nonprofit organization located at 25 Friendship Street in Waldoboro, Maine. Our members and supporters use land protection, stewardship, education, and plenty of fun to raise awareness and active involvement inside the Medomak River Watershed. MVLT provides an outlet for volunteers like yourself to make a difference, meet wonderful people, learn important information about the environment and land conservation, and enjoy opportunities like trailbuilding, conservation easement monitoring, and giving presentations in the community. MVLT recognizes the importance of your service to the agency, and the communities of the Medomak River watershed. That is why we are always working to expand the range of opportunities available to you, so that you have a variety of fun volunteer events and programs to choose from! MVLT offers its volunteers access to valuable work experience in a variety of different fields. For more information give us a call, or drop by the office for a visit!

History:
The Medomak Valley Land Trust was established in 1991 in Waldoboro, Maine. MVLT operated as an all-volunteer organization from 1991 - 2001, and was successful in protecting more than 225 acres of land and cultivating many projects that would be completed in the following years, including the publication of "The Medomak River Watershed: A Natural Resource Inventory" in 1994. In 2001, MVLT established an office and added an executive director to oversee the direction of MVLT. In 2002 came a much needed administrative coordinator to help with secretarial work and membership information. In 2006, an AmeriCorps volunteer and a Development Specialist were added to help with the volunteer management and the MVLT funding base. Since its origins MVLT has helped protect more than 1,300 acres of land, and consistently offers the communities of the Medomak River watershed its dedication and service. MVLT is growing quickly, and could benefit from your involvement.
