Vision: We envision a society in which equal access to abortion is guaranteed for all women, regardless of economic situation.

Mission: The Lilith Fund assists women in exercising their fundamental right to abortion by removing barriers to access.

Description:
The Lilith Fund raises money to distribute to low-income women who are in need of an abortion but do not have the necessary financial resources. Abortion is legal but out of reach for these women. Since Medicaid in Texas does not provide financial support for this medical procedure, the Lilith Fund was established to fill this void. We believe that access to abortion should not only be available to high and middle income women but also to low-income women.

History:
The Lilith Fund was established in 2001. It was begun by a number of young men and women in Austin, Texas to meet a need. Abortion was legal but out of reach to low-income women. The Lilith Fund is an all volunteer organization. We have 10 active board members and an advisory council of 7 members. We hold two major fund raisers per year; distribute two newsletter and one annual report annually.
