The Agape Ministry provides short term, emergency assistance to individuals and their families in our community. This ministry allows participating volunteers to put their Christian faith into action through helping people in need.

Description:
The Agape Ministry provides emergency assistance in the form of food, clothing, and some utility assistance to individuals and families in the following zip codes-78209, 78217, 78218, 78219, 78233, 78239, 78244. Volunteers assist as phone receptionists, record receptionists, interviewers, food pantry workers, thrift shop workers, and clothing organizers. The Agape Ministry is open Monday through Friday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-3:30 p.m. to serve clients needs.

History:
The Agape Ministry began in 1998 with 7 churches forming an organization to serve the emergency needs of clients living on the northeast side of San Antonio. Since that time the ministry has grown to 27 churches who provide volunteers to assist with clients in the following zip codes--78209, 78217, 78218, 78219, 78233, 78239, and 78244.
