AFS-USA works towards a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global volunteer partnership. AFS was formerly American Field Services.

Description:
AFS is seeking volunteers to be a liasion to an exchange student and also looking for families to host an exchange student this fall. Students arrive mid August and are here for a school year.

History:
AFS was founded in 1947 during World Wars I & II. Young Americans served overseas as volunteer ambulance drivers in the American Field Services, evacuating the wounded from the battlefields and helping liberate concentration camp survivors. When they returned home, they founded a movement to promote peace through international students exchange, known today as AFS. They knew what we also know: Today's Students Are Tomorrow's Leaders.
AFS is a worldwide, nonprofit organization with one of the largest volunteer networks of its kind in the world.
