Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, formerly known as Bexar Land Trust, is a non-profit organization based in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Our mission is to facilitate, educate, and advocate for the protection of land and natural, cultural, and historic resources in Bexar County and the surrounding areas for the good of present and future generations.
Description:
We approach our mission in three ways: · By preserving large parcels of land, · By preserving smaller parcels in urban areas and encouraging the development of community gardens, and · By educating all levels of the population to the need for and the means to preserve the land, and natural, historic, archaeological and cultural resources that make our communities vital, healthy, and economically sound. To that end, we work with private landowners to create and monitor conservation easements; governmental and quasi-governmental entities to maintain open space and protect water and other precious resources; and the general public to engage and educate them as to the benefits of the natural world.
