Description:
The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS)provides services to persons diagnosed with mental illness, developmental intellectual disabilities and substance abuse residing within the Bexar County. Coverage for services include Medicaid, Medicare, Carelink or private insurance. A sliding scale ability to pay process can also be assessed the individual.Qualifying for services is determined as per state guidelines and criteria. Services include but are not limited to crisis intervention, eligibility and assessment to psychiatric outpatient care,counseling,rehabilitation, case management to supported housing and employment and day programming.
History:
The Center for Health Care Services has been in existence since 1967 continuously offering services to the indigent population of Bexar County.Today it continues to serve individuals through a city wide collaborative effort and directly through the number of clinics and sites throughout the San Antonio/Bexar County area.

We have approximately 25 satellite offices throughout the city and Bexar County that serve the general community.
