Little Flower Basilica is a Catholic church.

Description:
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower is one of four basilicas in the state of Texas. Inside, visitors will find a beautiful shrine paying homage to St. Teresa. The church offers a multitude of services including weekend bilingual mass, funerals, and weddings.

History:
Pope John Paul II designated the National shrine of the Little Flower as a Basilica On August 27, 1998, an honor awarded to churches of special religious and historical significance.

The National Shrine of the Little Flower located in San Antonio has received one of the highest papal honors a church can receive: the title of "minor basilica." This honorary title, conferred by the Holy See, ranks the Shrine of Little Therese among the other minor basilicas located throughout the world such as the Basilica of Fatima, Lourdes, Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Anne de Beaupre. The elevation of the Shrine to basilica status has given many Catholics in the United States and throughout the world the opportunity to receive here many graces and blessings. After over two years of meetings and investigations among ecclesiastical authorities, both in the United States and in Rome, the Shrine received this honor on the 27th of August 1998.

The elevation of the National Shrine of the Little Flower to basilica makes it a place where the faithful will be able to receive special graces during the occasions indicated by the Holy See. One of the most important obligations and privileges the Shrine has assumed is the establishment of special liturgies which will afford many graces and benefits to the faithful.
