Providing companionship and assistence to residents of SAAF is one important role for a volunteer. Volunteers may offer to read to residents with visual impairment, assist at meal times, encourage physical activity and run errands. A personal visit can be very meaningful in overcoming the isolation of illness. The training program includes AIDS 101 for those new to the field, a series of work safety videos and an orientation to issues of confidentiality, ethical conduct and patient rights. A security check is mandatory. This opportunity is sponsored by: San Antonio AIDS Foundation
