History:
Africa's Children's Fund history begins in 1993 with Victor Mbaba, President & Founder. It is his past that compels him to work so diligently to ensure the future of Africa's children both here in Atlanta and abroad. Growing up in Nigeria, during a period of severe civil unrest, Mbaba's education was disrupted for three years. In 1967, his village was bombed leaving him orphaned and his family homeless and transient. These painful memories spurred Mbaba on to secure to the best of his ability, the best and brightest future for Africa's children by creating Africa’s Children’s Fund, whose sole mission is to implement and support development and relief programs. Africa's Children's Fund (ACF), a private nonprofit 501 C-3 organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. was founded in 1993. Mbaba, who has worked with children for over twenty years, saw a critical need to motivate and support families and communities to nurture and support all children. Since its inception, ACF has developed and implemented programs that positively impact the lives of children in the U.S. as well as several countries around the world. ACF’s youth and family development programs include tutoring, mentoring, youth leadership training, affordable housing, books donation & library development, HIV/AIDS intervention, and scholarships for orphans. ACF has an administrative office located at 4470 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Suite 350, in Atlanta and program facilities located at 2270 Flat Shoals Road in Riverdale and 600 Mountain View Drive in Stone Mountain. Our programs also operate in schools, recreational and community centers throughout Metro Atlanta. The ACF book repository and warehouse is located at 41 Industrial Way in Grantville, Georgia.
