The American Liver Foundation is the nation's leading nonprofit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention. ALF provides research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver disease including hepatitis.

Description:
The ALF provides resources to those affected by liver disease throughout Georgia, including Support groups, physician updates, brochures and other assistance. We are dedicated to raising funds through special events and other sources to fund research to find a cure to all liver diseases.

History:
The American Liver Foundation was created in 1976 by the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD). This organization of scientists and healthcare professionals was concerned with the rising incidence of liver disease and the lack of awareness among both the general public and the medical community. The mission, the programs and the services provided by ALF complement the great work of AASLD.
The Georgia chapter was founded in 1997 and we have successfully served thousands of liver disease patients and their families. Here at the Georgia Chapter, we stress that a healthy liver is essential to a healthy life. Therefore, we are committed to promoting the importance of liver health while educating the community about liver disease.
