Tennis In The 'Hood is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality tennis, educational and intervention programs to minority, at-risk and low income children in South Fulton County in need of academic and recreational assistance.
Description:
Tennis In The Hood provides 3 primary programs:
- An After-school program offering homework help and instruction to youth ages 5-14.
- A Mentoring program for youth ages 4-18 who have at least 1 parent incarcerated.
- A Junior Development Tennis program for children of all ages and abilities.
Our main goal is to help children build healthy bodies and minds and to instill the desire to learn and achieve through tennis instruction and creative learning programs. Tennis In The ‘Hood’’s motto is: “Empowering young minds through tennis and academics.” TITH (Tennis In The 'Hood) also offers tutoring, CRCT preparation, physical activity and health awareness for total child development.
History:
Tennis In The 'Hood was incorporated in 1997, but has been involved in the community since 1993. To date, our programs have reached more than 3,000 children in the South Fulton/Atlanta area. We continue to provide a variety of educational, cultural and recreational programs that help students better understand themselves, their school work and their world.
