Another Way Out, Inc. is a non profit organization in Atlanta, Georgia. The organization?s focus is to strengthen youth in the area of career development, self-esteem, community involvement, cultural appreciation and value oriented principles. The organization's mission is to provide guidance, leadership, and opportunities for Atlanta's youth adult, ages eight-eighteen, males and females through mentoring.
Description:
The hope of the organization is for each mentee to one day become a mentor. Each mentor is required to spend at least four hours a month with their mentee. Each mentor is partnered with a child to be a positive role model in their life. Many times children grow up and feel alone facing many barriers in their lives. With being part of this program you give a child an opportunity to have someone to look up to, spend time with, and talk to.
History:
Another Way Out, Inc. was established in 1992 by business man, Samuel Tompkin. Another Way Out, Inc. has postively impacted the lives of more than 2,200 students. Through its program initiatives, Another Way Out, Inc. received the TBS Pathfinders Award in Education and the 2005 A+ Award in Education and Atlanta Public Schools because of its collaborative efforts with Fulton County and Atlanta Public Schools. Another Way Out,Inc. has partnerships with Fulton County and Atlanta Public School Districts in which its currently serves 305 students in core curriculum and career prep areas.
