The nationwide, community based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.

We will accomplish our mission through:
Research: to find a cure
Education: to prevent cancer and detect it early
Advocacy: to enact laws that help reach our 2015 goals and eliminate cancer
Service: to help everyone touched by cancer make it through the journey
History:
Since 1913, the American Cancer Society has been the leader in the fight against all types of cancers. The American Cancer Society has funded 38 Nobel Prize winning scientists who have gone on to discover virtually every major breakthrough in cancer research.
