Building a promising future for the children of East Atlanta. We accomplish this by: Providing a safe and nurturing environment where kids can play, relax, learn, create and express themselves under supervision of caring adults; Exposing the children to a wide variety of recreational, educational and cultural experiences; Building character, self-esteem and respect for others; and Preparing our children to thrive in diverse communities. We also help to bridge the technology divide in our community.

Description:
The East Atlanta Kids Club is an after-school mentoring and enrichment program for disadvantaged youth ages 7 to 17. We have group and one-on-one mentoring programs that engage girls and boys in a rich variety of creative, educational and recreational activities. Our core program activities take place at Brownwood Park Recreation Center in East Atlanta.

History:
EAKC was founded in 1998 by residents of East Atlanta who wanted to engage low-income minority youth in fun and positive after-school activities. We began with four adults and 12 kids. We now have more than 150 adult volunteers working with more than 100 youth each year.
