Description:
ABOUT SAMARITAN HOUSE
Founded in 1986, Samaritan House of Atlanta has several programs aimed at helping homeless men and women gain self-sufficiency. We work with each guest to map out a personal plan of accountability, while providing the support services needed to help each person achieve their goals. Our services include comprehensive case management, referral services, clothing closets, laundry facilities, meals, telephone access, and much more!

The EDGE (Earning Dignity…Gaining Employment)
Samaritan House Employment Readiness Program

• Provides comprehensive daytime employment readiness support to homeless men and women in the community who are seeking full-time, permanent employment.

• Offers basic necessities such as a daily shower, morning breakfast, toiletry items, and clothes for job interviews.

• Provides comprehensive services such as voicemail, a post office address, resume development, internet job searching, mock-interview workshops, job boards and goal-setting sessions.

• Allows each client to work with a case worker one to one to plan a successful course of action to reach individual goals.

Café 458
Samaritan House Life Stabilization Program and Restaurant

• Provides case management for homeless men and women struggling with addiction issues, mental health concerns and severe physical disabilities.

• Each guest receives a warm, nutritious lunch in an atmosphere of respect along with referrals to shelters and assistance in creating a structured plan for self-sufficiency.

• Samaritan House works with Grady Health Systems and St. Joseph’s Mercy Care to further assist Café clients with other needs.

Samaritan House Clean Street Team
Transitional Employment and Training Program

• Our sister organization, Samaritan House Clean Street Team employs homeless men and women to work on various beautification projects throughout the city from Monday through Friday.

• In return for employment, Clean Street Team members receive stipends and attend semi-weekly employment readiness workshops while actively seek full-time employment and remaining clean from drugs.

• A partnership with the City of Atlanta, Georgia Department of Transportation, and United Way of Metro Atlanta.
