The Women's Employment Opportunity Project Inc. (WEOP) serves as a resource to promote economic self sufficiency and the advancement of low to moderate income women and girls with training, educational workshops and special projects.

Description:
WEOP guides women toward economic self-sufficiency with a network of programs and services that focus on career development; business skills training and financial literacy. WEOP is a community based organization that provides low to moderate income women with access to computer literacy training classes and workshops offered at WEOP and other locations in the community. The organization is also actively involved with special projects that promote the advancement of women.

History:
Founded in 1999, WEOP provides direct services as well as other special projects that benefit women. In partnership with other organizations the following is a listing of special projects and activities hosted by WEOP: events featuring women leaders; Monthly "Smart Business Talk" workshops in partnership with The Small Business Administration (SBA); Financial literacy and business workshops at the Southwest and East Point Library; A calendar of on-going specialized workshops and training sessions; Developed "Positive Messages", a program for girls; and The "Coalition of Women In Neighborhoods" (CO-WIN).
