The mission of Activ Children and Parent Services is to support community development through the empowerment of families by providing comprehensive resources such as:
• Youth remedial reading
• Adult literacy classes
• Family crisis counseling
• High quality early childhood education and care
• Parenting services
• Family resource referral services
• Family and youth financial planning/asset building
• Out of school services
• Transportation Services

Description:
Activ Children and Parent Services (ACAPS) provides high quality child care and early childhood education for children ages of 6 weeks to 12 years.Activ is licensed by the state of Georgia for 176 children, which includes three free Pre-K classes,Before/After school enrichment programs, and a Summer Camp enrichment program.ACAPS offers parenting and family resource services. The program is supported by 19 full time employees. Corporate direction is set by an eight member board of Directors. ACAPS is one of the few schools that serve age four and younger children by providing full and partial scholarships to disadvantaged children based on financial need. Activ Children and Parent Services is located in Henry County.

History:
Activ, Inc. has changed it’s “doing business as” (dba) trade name to ACTIV CHILDREN AND PARENT SERVICES (ACAPS). This name change more clearly reflects the community based objectives of our 501 (C) (3) non-profit missions as outlined below: Activ Inc., a non-profit Corporation Incorporated in 1997 in the State of Georgia. In 1999, in collaboration with the Georgia department of education,ACAPS launched a Reading Challenge program for elementary grade children. ACAPS established the scholarship(free and subsidized)program in 2002 for financially challenged families.Recently, 2006, ACAPS, Youth Under Construction and DHR collaborated and sponsored a Summer Magic Enrichment Program for teens and children ages 6years to 19years..
