Our mission is to empower at-risk children and youth to maximize their potential by providing them with academic, social and values enrichment through supportive mentoring and the use of technology. Through aggressive and innovative academic enrichment and mentoring, the U.S. Dream Academy is working to build dreams of the children of prisoners and those failing in school; and to provide the tools that they need to achieve their dreams.
Description:
The U.S. Dream Academy is an organization dedicated to making America a better place by starting with the most significant members of society-- our children. Across the nation there are thousands of young people who wake up every day wondering how or if they will see tomorrow. For many, an absent father, an addicted mother, a guardian, brother, aunt, uncle or neighbor in jail is not the exception but the rule. Research shows that the children of prisoners are seven times more likely than their peers to experience incarceration in the future. The U.S. Dream Academy is here to stop this vicious cycle and show that with the right tools and guidance, a child can achieve anything, regardless of how they got their start in life. We know that the children we don't educate too often are the adults we incarcerate. By giving youth education, encouragement, and confidence, we can provide them with the hope and opportunity they need to become great achievers. Please take a moment to read our mission, goals, and the rest of our website. You'll see that the more support we get, the greater the impact we'll have on bettering the lives of our nation's children.
