Overall Experience
I had a great time at United Way and learned a lot.

Commission on Homelessness(Homeless Outreach)- I got to participite in meetings on Homelessness Outreach, grantwriting and took part in actual outreach work. It was a great learning experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in the social sector. I was lucky to be under the supervision of Ko who is an absolute godsend to volunteers (his smartness and patience is unbelievable). posted on September 6, 2006 |
Overall Experience
I interned at United Way Metro Atlanta in the summer of my first-year MBA. It was a life-enriching experience. I learned a lot, including non-profit marketing, project management and how to get things done with limited budget and time. People at UWMA are friendly, easy to approach, and knowledgable. I strongly recommend interning or voluteering here! You will never regret the time and efforts!

Overall Experience
As a volunteer intern at United Way, I learned about how partnerships between the public and private sectors can lead to positive changes in local communities.

At United Way of Atlanta, I assisted with the development of a network of treatment court programs in the metro area. My primary responsibilities included corresponding with program contacts, locating appropriate social service providers, and researching funding opportunities. posted on August 28, 2006 |
