The Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of the American Red cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that saves lives; resolves crisis and emergencies; maintains health and prevents diseases; and helps people help themselves.
Description:
Red Cross is a nonprofit, human service organization. We rely on the generosity of the community to help fund vital programs and services. The Metro Atlanta Chapter is able to provide lifesaving programs and services to our communities. More than 3,000 volunteers -- from youths to seniors -- form the backbone of our chapter. Everyday they provide professional expertise and office support; help for people affected by fires and other disasters; training in first aid, CPR and emergency messages for military families.
History:
Founded in 1914, the Metro Atlanta Chapter is the largest chapter in Georgia and one of the top five nationwide. The Atlanta Chapter of the American Red Cross serves more than 3 million people in 15 counties. We provide Disaster Services, Armed Forces Emergency Services, CPR/First Aid programs, and other specialized programs such as Blood Services and Aquatic programs.
