Car Crashes are the leading cause of death for children 14 years and younger. Safe Kids Douglas County needs CPST's to assist with educating parents on best practices involving car seat usage and child passenger safety. CPST's generally work one on one with parents and assist them with proper use and installation of their car seats. CPST's are fully trained to know when a child safety seat should be rear facing or forward facing. They are also trained in GA law regarding child safety seats and can advise parents on the appropriate time for children to be in booster seats or the adult seat belt. The class is four days and national certification lasts for two years before renewal. This is a nationally recognized program. For more information, visit www.nhtsa.gov or www.safekids.org/certification or http://www.ridesafegeorgia.org/. This opportunity is sponsored by: Safe Kids Douglas County
