 Come spend some time with great kids ages 7 to 17 who live
in East Atlanta. Our after-school program usually meets 3 days per week at Martha Brown United Methodist Church, 468 Moreland Avenue, just north of East Atlanta Village*. Work with kids on art and creative projects, internet and computer activities, recreational activities and games, and go on fun field trips to cultural and outdoor venues.
Our after-school mentoring program meets on Tues. and Thurs. from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and on Sat. from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm; about once a month we go on a field trip, usually on a Saturday.
*Please be sure to call first before coming out to volunteer, to verify our location and plans for that particular day.
We ask volunteers to commit to volunteering two times per month, for a period of at least six months. We conduct mandatory volunteer orientations every two weeks. A criminal background check is done immediately following orientation for those who choose to join EAKC's volunteer corps. For this you need your driver's license and $10. Directions to Martha Brown UMC: From I-20, take exit 60A, Moreland Avenue-South. Go through one light. Turn left onto Metropolitan Avenue. Turn right into the first driveway on the right, behind Martha Brown church. Park directly behind the church. Walk down the ramp, and enter via the door on the far left.
