Ad Council of Buffalo helps nonprofit organizations produce and disseminate critical messages. We do this by linking these organizations with volunteers from the advertising, marketing, media and public relations fields. The Ad Council of Buffalo is a private, not-for profit organization founded in 1991, serving all of Western New York.
Description:
Want to work on challenging, rewarding projects for great clients? Then join the Ad Council of Buffalo, and you'll get the chance to do award-winning work for deserving nonprofit organizations throughout Western New York. There's no charge to join the Ad Council, no obligation, and no better way to use your creative marketing skills to help people. Whether you're a copywriter or a media buyer, public relations professional or graphic designer, or anything in between, you can make a difference. Here's an example of how Ad Council works:
- A local nonprofit organization comes to the Ad Council with a specific project request (e.g., a logo design).
- Ad Council notifies the appropriate people in our talent bank (designers, in this case) of the potential project, its scope, deadlines, etc..
- The designers in the talent bank decide if they'd like to work on the project based on their availability, the scope of the project, deadlines, etc. If they're interested, they tell the Ad Council they're available. If not, no problem - they stay on Ad Council's list and will be contacted for the next appropriate job.
- Ad Council introduces the designers and any other team members to the nonprofit organization. If more than one designer is interested in the project, the organization may interview the designers and choose one to work with.
- The designer will volunteer his or her time, and work with the client (and possibly other volunteers) to complete the job.
- The nonprofit gets a new logo, and the designer gets to work on a worthy project for a client who truly appreciates the effort. Oftentimes, these small nonprofit clients offer much greater creative freedom than typical clients, giving creatives the chance to present (and produce) award-winning work.
Once you fill out a form, rest assured that we'll contact you as soon as we have an appropriate project. We're in the midst of sifting through applications from nonprofit organizations, and we should be matching talent with nonprofit groups starting in January or February.
