The mission of the Jewish Community Center is to build and strengthen the Jewish and general communities by providing high quality programs and services for the recreational, educational, cultural, physical and social needs of those communities that are consistent with Jewish values, promote Jewish identity and awareness and enrich the lives of its members and the community at-large.
Description:
The Center is a dynamic organization that serves multiple constituencies concurrently that range in age from birth through the frail aged. Its constituents live throughout the metropolitan area and are served at both our Delaware Avenue and North Forest Road facilities. Summer camping experiences are provided at the day and resident camp sites located in Elma and Franklinville. Its purpose is to enrich the life of the community by implementing programs that respond to the social,recreational, educational, physical/wellness, and cultural needs of the community. The Center's extensive program service offerings are designed to respond to important human needs that will improve the quality of life for its members and the overall community. JCC programs of the community include: Early Childhood/Children's programs: children's skill development and enrichment programs, children's sports league and summer camping program for children 2-15 years of age; Family Programs: Parent/toddler support programs, parent education programs, support programs for single parents, family recreation and leisure time activities; Adult Programming: cultural events including concerts, speakers, social issues forums, adult social group activities, adult education programs; Fitness/Wellness Services: aquatics instruction and programming on all levels for all ages, supervised fitness programs, health education programming targeting nutrition, weight management, women's wellness, back injuries and arthritis, adaptive, supervised fitness for special medical concerns, life sport instruction, adult sports leagues, children's skill development classes.
