Child & Family Services Haven House interrupts the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence and assists victims in their quest to lead lives that are free from violence and we provide a forum for victims and survivors so that they can fully maximize their true potential.

Description:
Haven House provides any or all of the following services for victims of domestic violence:

1. 24-hour confidential crisis hotline.
2. Safe shelter for women and children in a confidential location.
3. Individual counseling and support groups for residential and non-residential clients (male & female).
4. Advocacy and assistance with social services, police, courts, etc.
5. Recreational and therapeutic programming for children residing in shelter.
6. Education and training for lay or professional audiences on child abuse, partner abuse, elder abuse, dating violence and effects of domestic violence in the workplace.
7. Legal consultation by volunteer lawyers.
8. Participation in community organizations and coalitions.
9. Safe home network providing safe, temporary and confidential safe dwellings located throughout Erie County.



History:
Since 1979, Haven House has provided safe, confidential services for victims of domestic violence. A broad range of residential and non-residential services help victims interrupt the cycle of abuse and create lives free from violence. Haven House provides victims with the resources needed to rebuild their lives, and children are taught skills to cope with family crises and learn non-violent forms of conflict resolution.
