ABOUT

Brooks Learning Center is a small personable educational facility. Its programs are designed to help every individual, ranging from ages 5 through adult, who enrolls reach his/her maximum potential, regardless of age, learning abilities, gender or race.

PURPOSE

The purpose of Brooks Learning Center is to provide a highly structured, yet warm, classroom atmosphere which enables one to learn skills as quickly as possible without the fear of embarrassment or failure.

OBJECTIVES

  • To enable individuals to work on skill weaknesses while simultaneously working on skills required for their present work environments.

  • To support and supplement the regular school curriculum, or job requirements, by using related texts during the instructional period.

  • To enable individuals to work on skills at different instructional levels simultaneously.

  • To help students build their self-esteem through learning the necessary skills that will enable them to catch up with their peers as quickly as possible.

  • History:
Brooks Learning Center was founded in 1981 by Sharon Brooks. Dr. Brooks felt that many children were not reaching their academic potentials because allowances were not made for individual differences in learning styles and academic readiness. She opened Brooks Learning Center to prove that all children could learn if the material was broken down into short, easy steps, and if the correct instructional technique was used.
