The Erie County Medical Center is dedicated to being the regional medical center of choice through excellence in patient care and customer service.

Description:
Erie County Medical Center is an advanced academic medical center with a 550 bed acute care hospital and a 136 bed Skilled Nursing Facility which includes 10 ventilator beds and 10 sub-acute rehabilitation beds. ECMC is the Level 1 Trauma Center, the Burn Treatment Center, and the rehabilitation center for the Western New York region and ranked among the nation's top 100 hospitals for cardiac and intensive care. It is a major teaching facility for the State University of New York at Buffalo.

History:
ECMC was originally known as Buffalo City Hospital and then became the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital. In 1978, we moved into a new facility on the same campus, which is now known as the Erie County Medical Center Corporation.
