Brush Up Buffalo is a one-day event where groups of volunteers paint the homes of low-income homeowners with donated paint and supplies.
The steering committee works throughout the year to plan the June event.

Description:
Brush Up Buffalo works to relieve the poor and distressed in and around the City of Buffalo; combat community deterioration and urban decay; and to lessen the burden of government while providing support and services to the poor and needy including, but not limited to, the painting and repair of homes.

History:
Brush Up Buffalo was founded in 1996 by a group of business and government leaders on Buffalo's East Side. the project was adapted from a similar project in Flint, MI.
We have painted more than 210 houses throughout the city since the project's inception. The one-day event also includes breakfast and a picnic for volunteers and residents.
Volunteers work throughout the year to recruit volunteer paint teams, solicit donations of goods and services, acquire grant dollars and select homes to be painted.
