"The Girl Scout Council of Buffalo & Erie County prepares girls and young women in Western New York to meet the emerging challenges of society and to provide leadership in resolving issues that may be prevalent in their environment.

With the values of diversity and inclusion, we carry out our commitment through the guidance of adult members who serve as role models of responsibility, character and citizenship, providing our girls and young women with skills to enable them to achieve their full potential as both individuals and contributing members of their community."

Description:
Girl Scouts is the largest worldwide organization dedicated to helping girls everywhere develop character-building traits and gain skills that will enable them to achieve lasting success in the real world. The Girl Scout Council of Buffalo & Erie County, Inc., registered its first Troop in April of 1917 - just five years after the organization was formed by Juliette Gordon Low.

History:
Eighty-eight years since its founding, the Buffalo Council continues the tradition of providing girls and young women with caring, committed mentors in the form of Troop Leaders, and other volunteers. All-girl programs conducted in a safe and nurturing environment help girls develop strong values, leadership skills, a social conscience and confidence that their intelligence, talent, potential and self-worth will serve them well all of their lives
