AIDS Community Services of Western New York Inc. (ACS) is a not for profit community based organization committed to ending the AIDS epidemic and minimizing its effects in the eight counties of western New York. We base our organizational vision, mission and goals on these values: Accessibility, communication, confidentiality, Innovation and Change, Personal Responsibility, Professionalism, Quality services and Respect for Diversity.
Description:
We are now in the second decade of offering professional services and programs. ACS provides a comprehensive center for HIV care located in the heart of those communities hit by AIDS. We provide case management, short-term counseling, support groups, alcohol and substance abuse counseling, housing assistance, nutrition services, HIV testing and counseling, community education, library resources, AIDS information line, and other volunteer services. We have four locations where you can volunteer in Buffalo, Jamestown and Niagara Falls. We are committed to developing partnerships with other service providers to develop and maintain healthy communities.
History:
Since, 1983 ACS has provided, advocacy and information as well as, all the services provided in our description. We have been a leader in AIDS work for over 20 years.
