The Messinger Woods volunteers provide care for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife with the goal of release back to the wild.

Description:
We are a not for profit 501c3 organization. Wildlife rehabilitators, along with veterinarians and other concerned citizens volunteer their time to Messinger Woods and the Messinger Woods wildlife hospital. We care for most indginous wild mammals/birds/reptiles with the ultimate goal of release.

History:
The organization was formed in 1997 when a group of wildlife rehabilitators came together to network. Many felt that as volunteers, a better system could be established by helping one another. The organization came together and after a donation of land from Edith Messinger, Messinger Woods WIldlife Care and Education Ctr Inc was born. After several years of raising funds, the Messinger Woods Hospital was built.
