Pet Connection Programs Inc. is a special care and maternity animal shelter. We provide food, shelter, medical and medical care to all animals that are surrendered. They receive 24/7/365 care and are prepared for adoption. Spay/neutering is our number one priority along with education and the promotion of responsible pet ownership. Our goal is to raise $72,000 to complete construction of our two new maternity rooms, one for cats and one for dogs. This project is necessary due to the amount of animals that still need our help from the disaster areas. We have saved thousands of animals from the gas chamber in out of town pounds. Thankfully all have been adopted, but there are many more waiting their chance for a second chance for a happy life, not one in a cage waiting to die a horrible death! Please find it in your heart to sacrifice your time for these loving and trusting animals! See their faces on our website!"PICTURE PAGE"
Description:
Pet Connection Programs Inc. is a special care and maternity animal shelter that has provided valuable services to the local community since 1984. We provide 24/7/365 care to all abandoned/orphaned animals in need of food, shelter, medical care. Adoption of these lovable pets is our goal. We have the only Pet Food Bank in the country. We found that there was a need to help low-income individuals and seniors a way for them to keep their animals that they could no longer afford. These pets provide companionship and even protection for their owners. We also are involved with Pet Therapy. We take suitable animals to visit schools hospitals, rehab centers and nursing homes through Therapy Pets of WNY for educational programs. This provides comfort to the residents who cannot have access to animals at their facility. These animals provide so much love and they ask for nothing but respect in return. Volunteering as an animal lover is a very rewarding experience!
History:
Pet Connection Programs Inc. was founded by Julie Garvey in 1984 when she and her family moved to Marilla. The first week at her new home, she experienced her first drop off. A dog was let out of a car down from her home and took off with the dog chasing after it. She took in the dog and tried to find it a home through the SPCA. This started her years as a volunteer. Julie had been bringing home strays since she was a little girl. Her mother always knew that animals were in her daughter's future. In the years following, Julie managed to raise 3 children while caring for horses, sheep, dogs, cats and other assorted animals on her 20 acre farm! With the help of numerous volunteers that were her lifeline, she has rescued and cared for thousands of animals that required around the clock care. Once again, there is a need for new volunteers that share her love for animals. All our donations come from businesses and the general public. The shelter does not receive any outside agency assistance. We do all our own fundraising and are looking for people to man our fundraising booths and coordinate fundraising events. Any amount of time that you can spare is greatly appreciated! A volunteer application can be filled out and submitted on our website or call the shelter 652-0192 and we can mail one to you. Your experience in all areas of fundraising and animal care are needed. Visit our website for event dates and schedule of volunteer members meetings which are held at the shelter
