The Matthew Foster Foundation is looking for people that have a passion to assist WNY children with cancer. Our board meetings are semi-monthly and committee meetings are as needed.
Skills that we are looking for include organization skills, good people skills, a team player and the ability to network with others. As most not for profit organizations it is helpful it you can relate to our mission and that is the ability to have compassion for children with a life threatening disease. Also, as mentioned earlier, we need someone that has a good network of people or feels comfortable in establishing a network.
Some of the things that make us different then a number of other organizations are that we are a grass roots WNY organization. We use 90% of the money we raise to provide assistance to only WNY families of children with cancer. We also have expanded our assistance to working with families if their child loses their battle with cancer by assisting with the final arrangements for the child.
