History:
For more than 30 years The Salvation Army of Boyertown operated as a Service Unit staffed by volunteers who rendered services on behalf of the community in the name of The Salvation Army. In September 1994 a full-time Salvation Army Officer was appointed to Boyertown and it became an official Salvation Army Corps. The Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service is located at 409 S. Reading Avenue in Boyertown. The building houses administrative offices, kitchen and pantry, classrooms, the dmZ teen center, and a chapel. The former bowling alley and archery den could not have been renovated except for a generous gift from the Daniel Hartman Legacy.
