The mission is provide efficient, thorough and quality advocacy to children who enter the court system as a result of abuse and/or neglect.
Description:
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a volunteer appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in Berks County. CASA volunteers undergo 40 hours of training where they learn how to carefully research a child's background and prepare an objective report based on their findings.
History:
The CASA Program first began in Berks County in 1993. More than 200 Berks County children have been represented by CASA.
