To make a difference by offering a variety of prevention program services to the Berks County Community that help to address problems and risks associated with: alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; violence; teen pregnancy; abuse; crime; school drop-out; and other related social issues.
Description:
The Community Prevention Partnership of Berks County has more than 10 programs that operate throughout the City of Reading and Berks County. Many of these programs help to mobilize communities in addressing social issues. Other programs provide direct services to children, teens and adults.
History:
The Partnership began with a grant from the Center For Substance Abuse Prevention to mobilize communities to find soluntions to the problems they face locally concerning alcohol and other drugs(AOD). From there the Partnership has grown by leaps and bounds to deliver many programs dealing with not only AOD issues, but the surrounding social issues as well. Thanks to community support the Partnership is helping to make Berks County better place.
