Blood drives are also scheduled at locations all over Berks and Western Montgomery County every month. The volunteers and employed staff create a working partnership that provides safe volunteer blood products to our community.

    History:
The Keystone Community Blood Bank was founded in 1966 through the efforts of the Reading Lions Club and the Berks County Medical Society. Initially, Keystone recruited blood donors through its membership program to donate at local hospitals. In 1980, Keystone instituted a bloodmobile program with the first mobile drive taking place in January 1981. The Mark S. Reed Donor Center opened in January 2001. Mark S. Reed was one of the founding members of KCBB, having served on the board of directors since its establishment and its medical director for six years. KCBB continues to provide blood products and services to The Reading Hospital Medical Center, St Joseph Hospital and the Pottstown Memorial Hospital. Keystone recruits and collects over 11,000 blood donations annually and is recognized as a vital community resource to residents throughout Berks County.
In 2001, KCBB and Miller Memorial Blood Center announced their merger. MMBC and KCBB are affiliates of Hospital Central Services, Inc. & Affiliates. In June of 2003, we consolidated our name and logo to become Miller-Keystone Blood Center
