Description:
The Lutheran Home at Topton, a Diakon senior living community,provides housing and quality care to the elderly. Housing is available for independent living, assisted living, dementia and alzheimers care, and skilled care needs. Volunteers are an integral part of the care that is provided to the Residents. Opportunities are available for one on one interaction with skilled care residents, activities, special events, clerical needs, delivering meals, transportation, hospice care, family and group activities, and almost anything else you may be interested in. History:
The Lutheran Home at Topton has been serving the community for over a century. Originally, it was an orphanage. Today we provide quality care in a continuing care community to over 500 individuals. We have 50 cottages that give residents a care free type of living, with all maintenance needs provided. Apartments are available with studio and 1-2 bedrooms. Meals are provided in a luxurious dining room. Assisted living rooms are available for those needing some assistance with independent living. The skilled care facility provides care for those requiring 24 hour nursing care. An alzheimers unit is also available. Over 1200 volunteers are actively involved in improving the quality of life for our very special residents.
