Caring Hospice is a unique, holistic, and cost-effective service designed to meet the social, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of our patients as they face terminal illness. Our mission is to coordinate patient and family services while respecting their choices, values, and beliefs. We are also committed to educating the community regarding hospice philosophies and multi-disciplinary standards of care.

Description:
We provide Caring Hospice care in a variety of settings where patients have the loving support of their family, friends, and/or other caregivers. A large part of the Hospice team's role is to provide education and support to those caregivers. However, sometimes patients are unable to stay at home and must enter a nursing home or other facility. Hospice does provide care to patients residing in nursing homes and other facilities they call home.
The goals of Caring Hospice include:

  • To help the patient remain comfortable, alert, and able to participate in life as fully as possible.
  • To provide support and care for family, friends, and/or other caregivers so they can remain attentive to the patient throughout the illness.
  • To enhance the quality of life so that the patient can continue to have opportunities to grow as a person and search for meaning, peace, and acceptance.
  • To provide on-going support for the family, friends, and/or other caregivers during bereavement.
