The Safe Haven Family Visitation Center is a newly created program that serves families who have a history of family conflict or domestic violence. It is a program that allows for children to visit with their non-custodial parent in a safe environment. The interactions are supervised by a trained visit monitor. Volunteers are needed in various capacities such as clerical office assistance, website development, administering surveys, researching/ collecting statistics, coordinating fundraising events and decorating the center site.
Description:
The Safe Haven Family Visitation Center shall provide education and support in promoting opportunities for children to have safe, conflict-free access to one or both of their parents through a continuum of child access services based on values of respect, ethical behavior and excellence in service, designed to create positive outcomes for the families, the County of Berks and society overall, resulting in a reduction in violence, healthier children and a more peaceful community.
