The Nolde Center maintains 11 miles of trails and associated facilities for center visitors and students involved in learning activities. Volunteer workdays are designed to help the Center keep these trails and facilities in good condition for all to enjoy. Volunteers may be involved in removing brush and downed trees, trimming trails, clearing boundary lines, clearing drainage ditches and culverts, removing invasive plants, weeding gardens, building stone walls and steps, litter pick-up, and related outdoor maintenance tasks depending on the time of year. Good opportunity for service learning hours for students and organized groups. Individuals and groups may volunteer for morning, afternoon or all day, 9am to 3pm. Volunteers should dress appropriately for outdoor work: long pants, long sleeved shirts, boots or shoes, warm layered clothing, bring a bag lunch if staying all day. Volunteers should be able to use simple hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, bow saw, grass whip, hand nippers, etc. This opportunity is sponsored by: Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center
