 Berks Visiting Nurse Association, a non-profit agency, is seeking compassionate individuals with a desire to support our clients and their families during this very special time of life.
Volunteers ARE the heart of hospice. Regarded as the premiere volunteer opportunity, these volunteers say they receive so much more than they ever give. Hospice volunteers perform a variety of tasks from running errands, lending telephone support, attending craft club, working on projects from their own homes to actual bedside companionship. If you have ever had a yearning to lend support to those dying and their caregivers, PLEASE GIVE US A CALL!
Training is required to be a hospice volunteer. Flexible dates and hours are designed to accommodate volunteer's hectic lifestyles. Join fellow volunteers for these friendly sessions. You will increase your knowledge of hospice as well as learn how to provide comfort to the dying. Opportunities for supporting caregivers and families through our bereavement program after the client's death are also available to those interested.
