To enrich the quality of life for area residents of all ages, the Richmond Area Arts Council, in partnership with the community, presents art forms, provides educational opportunities, and supports and promotes arts groups and artists.
Description:
We work closely with local businesses, the city government and Eastern Kentucky University organizations to present quality concerts (some totally free of charge) for the benefit of all residents of Richmond and Madison county and beyond. We also have an after-school program for 1st-8th grade wherein there are classes in dance, drama, art and music. There is reasonable tuition for these programs and scholarships are available. Classes were also offered this summer, being an all day program for the first time this year. We offer a music program. MusikMatters, for babies to age 5, along with their parent/caregiver, in which music and movement is used to enhance their development. We will be introducing adult classes in the near future. Our future expansion insures that the Arts Council will continue to thrive and incorporate more programs for all ages.
