*To serve as a regional coordinator of child care services.
History:
The Child Care Council of KY was established in 1984 as part of a national network of agencies that provide child care referral information to parents. The Child Care Council of KY serves the Bluegrass Area Development District which includes Fayette and the surrounding 16 counties. The agency currently services the region through several departments; Child Care Assistance and Child Care Assistance billing, Referral services to parents, Reporting of openings for certified and licensed child care providers, scholarship and professional development opportunities for child care providers to attend college, technical assistance for providers to improve the quality of child care offered, training and continuing education to child care providers to meet state requirements, federal child and adult food program for certified and registered providers and referral services to local corporations.
The Child Care Council of KY is dedicated to matching the child care needs of parents with the child care services available in the community. A staff of child care specialists is available to assist families with their child care search.
