History:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass is the result of the collective efforts from various community groups and clubs in conjunction with the Fayette Juvenile court. These efforts began in 1955 and on August 7, 1957 Big Brothers of Lexington was chartered as a non-profit corporation in Kentucky to serve boys from single parent homes. Big Sisters was added in 1977, and today the agency is known as Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, Inc.
