"Building a community one family at a time."
Supporting women and their families in recovery from alcohol and other drug abuse.
Description:
Chrysalis House provides a safe, nurturing, and aesthetically pleasing environment for adult recovering women and their children. We recognize the disease concept of addiction and incorporate the Twelve Step Program into every aspect of our treatment program. We believe the "whole" woman must be treated in order to achieve health, happiness and serenity. We accept each resident as a worthwhile individual and treat all with dignity and respect.
History:
Chrysalis House was established in 1978 to provide safe, therapeutic shelter and residential treatment to women recovering from substance abuse addiction. Since it's inception 25 years ago, the agency has expanded its capacity from 6 women to 66 women and 45 children. Chrysalis House, Inc. has expanded into 9 programs; Chrysalis House, Family Program, Relapse Prevention Services, Apartment Community, Scattered Site Housing Program, Richmond Arms (Richmond, KY), Continuing Care Program, The Grace Happens Drop In Center, and the Chrysalis Community Center.
