The mission of this organization is to maintain and operate a nature preserve at Floracliff as envisioned by the late Dr. Mary E. Wharton. This is to preserve and maintain the existing natural communities and special geological features of Floracliff. The Sanctuary is to serve as a center for education and research in the natural history of the Inner Bluegrass and Kentucky River watershed. It is also to be a place where visitors may find the values of peace, inspiration, and love of nature that were so valued by its founder.
