The Mission of the West End Community Empowerment Project (WECEP)of Lexington, Inc is to Motivate, Promote and Educate all citizens to work together to meet the challenges of the community. In order to carry out its mission, WECEP involves representative of the low-income, public and private sectors of the community.

History:
The West End Community Empowerment Project of Lexington, Inc. is a "grass roots" project designed 'by the people, for the people' and is family driven. WECEP was established January 5, 1995 and became incorporated in April 1996. WECEP received its 501 C3, non-profit status in August 1998.

Through 'door-to-door' surveys, focus groups and town-hall meetings, WECEP has provided the necessary opportunities to citizens to enhance their quality of life and improved conditions in the Lexington Community.
